Object information: "The posture (of this late work) seems more conceived than seen. In the true sense, it is not a dancing movement at all, (but) the rest between two sequences of movement." The porcelain model was awarded the "Grand Prix" at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1937. (Source: Braun, Hermann: Fritz Klimsch-Werke. Hanover 1980, p. 75.)
Artist information: Fritz Klimsch was an important German sculptor of classical modernism. The focus of his oeuvre is the autonomous human image, especially the female nude, liberated in form and content. In general, the influences of ancient sculptural language and, in particular, those of the works of August Rodin or Adolf von Hildebrand are noticeable in his creations. His works can be found in renowned museums such as the Nationalgalerie Berlin, the Germanisches Nationalmuseum or Göteborgs Konstmuseum. (Source: Braun - Works. / Internet.)
