French-born Michel Delannoy was one of the founders of the "Roseau Vert" workshop for disabled people in Marchimont. It seems that his meticulously arranged compositions, which probably brought him great serenity, deepened and became more complex over time. The two sets presented in this sale illustrate the latter part of his work. They are closely related to the embroidery-patchworks of Jacques Trovic, who also elaborated a sort of classification of his memories through his plastic works, like a rigorously ordered iconotheque.
Works by Delannoy are on display at the Musée d'Art Spontané in Brussels.
