Alfred Kubin (1887 Leitmeritz - 1959 Zwickledt) Hunter fighting a lindworm Kubin's imaginative drawing shows a hunter aiming a rifle at the head of a lindworm, while two bullets are already on their way out of the barrel to hit the target. Kubin, who cannot be clearly assigned to any artistic movement such as Symbolism, Surrealism or Expressionism, created his own bestiary of partly fantastic animals and hybrid creatures, including snakes, dragons and sea monsters.
