Andreas Achenbach (1815 Kassel - 1910 Düsseldorf) Torrent Skillfully captured, dynamic impression of a torrential mountain stream making its way under a bridge over scree and boulders into the valley. Andreas Achenbach, who together with his brother Oswald Achenbach is regarded as a leading figure in the Düsseldorf School of Painting, attracted attention for his artistic talent as a child and was quickly encouraged. He completed his training at the Düsseldorf Academy under Wilhelm Schadow, among others. Mixed media with gouache, watercolor, opaque white and pencil/toned paper.
