Our plaster cast is based on the famous Roman sculpture from the Uffizi Museum in Florence (Italy), discovered in Rome and based on a lost Greek bronze, but also on the marble group by Philippe MAGNIER (1647-1715), based on the same model and produced in France around 1684-1688, placed first at Versailles, then at Marly and finally at the Tuileries, before arriving at the Louvre after a detour via Roubaix.
