Artist's ceramic vase by André Brasilier with horses and riders in the forest
High-fired earthenware or stoneware, brick-red body. Wide, slightly tapering cylindrical shape, sloping shoulder, accentuated lip rim. Circumferential decoration, incised and with black, white and green engobe painting, colorless glaze inside and partially outside. Marked "Sassi-Milici Vallauris Empreinte Originale A. Brasilier" (in capitals) with impressed sign "Andre Brasilier" in an applied rectangular piece of clay, inscribed "EXEMPLAIRE EDITEUR" (incised in black engobe stain). A copy outside the edition of 25 or 30. H. 26 cm; D. 30 cm.
An earthenware or stoneware vase by André Brasilier decorated with horses and riders in a forest. Impressed studio mark with signature "Sassi-Milici Vallauris Empreinte Originale A. Brasilier" and "A. Brasilier", inscribed "EXEMPLAIRE EDITEUR". Sample for the editor aside from the edition of 25 or 30.
