Berlin, KPM, around 1840
This elaborately painted small casket is one of the most precious porcelain objects produced by KPM in the period of royal gifts. The occasion is likely to have been a private one, a case whose painting provides information about its contents. Alternatively, it could be a large toilet set, possibly in gilded silver, to which this small box would have been a complement.
