Six sheets of postal stamps issued 1.11.1945 by the Polish Committee Dachau Allach with addition for the Polish Red Cross stamps. The eagle in the center of the stamp has the words 'Polish Political Prisoners Out-of-Gratitude' surrounding it. These were issued at the end of WWII by the Polish Committee Dachau-Allach to raise funds for the Red Cross in that organization's efforts to locate missing persons. The Dachau Concentration Camp was liberated by the U.S. Army in April, 1945, after which the camp was used to house displaced persons. Poles at the camp organized their own postal service in August 1945.
