"Alexandre DUMAS - Nouvelles impressions de voyage [Bound with] Charles-Paul de KOCK - Un homme à marier Chez Pauline à Paris, Publication du Figaro, 1837 - Extremely rare first edition, probably the rarest of all Dumas originals and not included in either the Carteret or Clouzot editions. Only Vicaire offers the following relatively imprecise description: "La Biliographie de la France of May 27, 1837 contains the following interesting note on Volume III of Impressions de voyage: ""Le Figaro, a daily newspaper, has appeared since its last revival, in two parts distributed simultaneously, the first in 4 pages in-4, the second in 8 pages in-8, which together form a volume containing a work approximately every month. One of these volumes is entitled Nouvelles impressions de voyages (New travel impressions). These are only fragments of the third volume announced today. But it is the subject of a lawsuit brought before the Commercial Court. The case has been put on the roll. See Le Droit of May 24, page 2047. "" In fact, the text relates passages from volumes 3 and 5 of "Impressions de voyage", but with variants, and that's the whole point of this copy: apart from its rarity, it presents passages that are in themselves unpublished! Bound in Romantic half-basin with smooth, richly decorated spine. Some rubbing, interior well preserved, but with scattered foxing. Complete with all 52 daily issues, bound together in a strictly period binding: the only copy known to have been offered on the national and international market for several decades, in a later binding. A TRUE BIBLIOPHILIC RARITY! Following is another uncommon text in a first edition by Paul de Kock: Un homme à Marier ou M. Frontin. Au bureau d'abonnement à Paris, 1837. In-8, 410pp + 2pp, 131pp."
