BLACK-FIGURE PELIKE
Side A: Athena battling the giant Enceladus. Side B: Dionysus and a maenad. This Péliké, a rather rare form in black figures, depicts a gigantomachy scene on side A, set against a background of sprigs of dots. A Peliké showing the same scene is in the Leipzig Museum. Side B depicts Dionysus holding a rhyton in the company of a maenad, also in a dotted branch décor.
