"The Délié et Béchard workshop won a medal at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1878. French Egyptologist Auguste Mariette (1821- 1881), director of the Egyptian Antiquities Service from 1858 onwards, was the founder of the Boulaq Museum, the first Egyptian museum opened to the public in Cairo in 1863, in Mariette's own home. Antoine Mourès (1827-1887) went on to print the first book in hieroglyphics, later transforming his printing works into the Imprimerie Nationale d'Égypte".
