With woodcut title border and 36 woodcut plates. 2 pp. Paris, Jean le Clerc 1625. qu.4°. 19th century brochure (small losses and small missing parts). Cf. Mortirner 158, Brun 161 and Duinesnil IX,811 other editions). - Famous and into the 18th century widespread art of drawing by Jean Cousin (1522-94 ?). First published at the end of the 16th century, further editions with the woodcuts from the first edition were quickly published by the same publisher. - The title woodcut border with wide scrollwork, allegorical figures and instruments of draughtsmanship. The plates depict the human body and individual limbs, each with an indication of the proportions. Text explanations on the opposite side. - White. Margins with small losses and small chips, title page with inscription in old hand, some foxing, 3 plates with small missing parts in the image, 2 plates with small hole, browned. - Very rare.
