A curved rosewood veneer chest of drawers with curlicue decoration, surrounded by violet wood. It opens on three rows with four drawers, two of which are in the first row. The straight uprights, curved and pinched for the fronts, rest on small cambered feet. Gilt bronze trim: key escutcheons, pull handles, apron, falls and sabots. Polychrome Breche marble top molded with a corbin.
Stamped: M. CHEVALLIER (on the upper right crosspiece). Jean-Mathieu Chevallier (1694-1768) known as l'Aîné, cited as master on March 5, 1743.
