According to a label on the back, the model, originally from the Ain region, was the love of Charlotte Elisabeth Aïssé, adopted daughter of Charles de Férriol, ambassador to the Turks under Louis XIV and owner of the Château de Pont de Veyle from 1703 to 1738.
