A Meissen figure of a Bulgarian, circa 1750
Modelled by J.J. Kaendler and P. Reinicke, carrying a staff in his right hand, wearing a fur-lined blue, hat, long white coat, purple tunic with blue sash, yellow trousers and red shoes, 23cm high, faint crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue to rear edge of base (two fingers on left hand restored, both ends of his stick restored)

Based on pl. 82, Bulgare, in the Comte de Ferriol's 'Receuil de cent estampes représentant différentes nations du Levant. . . . ', Paris 1714, or the edition published in German by Christoph Weigel the Elder in Nuremberg in 1719.
