Rare circular Meissen porcelain box, circa 1735 and later lid A rare Meissen circular box, circa 1735, and a later cover Painted with three chinoiserie scenes of figures flanked by flowers on gilt scrollwork brackets filled with Böttger lustre and edged with purple and iron-red scrollwork, flanked by sprigs of indianische Blumen, the cover, possibly a later replacement, similarly decorated within a formal gilt floral and zig-zag border reserved with puce chinoiserie vignettes, gilt inside rims, 11.7cm across; 7.3cm high, faint traces of blue crossed swords mark (minor flaking to gilt inside rims) (2) Footnotes: Provenance: Anon. sale, Christie's Geneva, 11 November 1985, lot 138 For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com
