A Meissen KPM teapot and cover, circa 1725
Each side painted with a chinoiserie scene within a gilt scrollwork cartouche filled with Böttger lustre and edged with iron-red scrollwork, the curved spout and mask terminal embellished in gilding, the handle with indianische Blumen, both flanked by birds and insects in flight, the domed cover with a continuous chinoiserie scene including two cockerels, attached to the handle by a chain, 11.5cm high, K.P.M. and crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, gilt numeral 71. to both, black painted collector's number E.3332 2
