Starting with the novel idea of setting a horror movie on a spaceship, Ridley Scott's second film, Alien, instigated one of cinema's most enduring franchises. With its fresh, blue-collar take on sci-fi, a steely female lead protagonist in Sigourney Weaver's Ripley, and a nightmarish creature designed by Swiss surrealist H.R. Giger, it is still regarded as one of the greatest sci-fi films ever made. This lot will be auctioned on Thursday, April 18th.
