Alfred Marié (A.C.M.) fuses found objects, industrial materials and organic matter in his work. Initially a house painter, then a student at the École régionale supérieure in Tourcoing, the meeting with his partner Corinne in 1974, to whom his pseudonym pays homage (Alfred Corinne Marié), marked the start of his artistic career, between personal reconstruction and artistic experimentation.
Somewhere between architecture and sculpture, his creations are crudely worked, with visible marks of welding and glue. Through the inventive use of multiple media - glass, rust, pearls and fuses - this work bears witness to a spontaneous, intuitive creative approach, in the tradition of Robert Rauschenberg's ready-mades and combine paintings.
