The panel depicting Christ Emmanuel enthroned in the center, surrounded by a large aureole borne up by two angels, above are the Trinity and God Sabaoth with two angels to the left and to the right. In the lower right a triumphant skeleton holding a scythe astride an apocalyptic beast symbolizing Death, a victorious Christ dressed in armour opposite. Egg tempera on chalk ground, gold ground. 71.2 x 57.7 cm. In the center of the composition Christ Emmanuel in an aureole carried by angels. Above him the blessing God Sabaoth - depicted above the clouds as the 'Ancient of Days' clothed in white according to the vision of the prophet Ezekiel. The two lower corners on the left and right depict the work of death as the oppressor of mankind and the victory of Christ, the radiant warrior, over death on the cross. On the left an angel binds the demons, on the right apocalyptic Death rides on a lion over prostrate humans. Vertical cracks min. rest.
