Nadia PASQUER (b. 1940): Sculpture from the Nuage series. Glazed stoneware. Monogrammed NP. H 24 - L : 22 cm
After studying drawing in Paris and teaching, Nadia came to La Borne. Modeling soon replaced throwing. At the beginning of 1990, she radicalized her approach with an economy of means: one clay, two or three engobes, basic tools and sawdust firing. She goes for the essential, the essence of the sky. Nadia moves from ovoid shapes to spheres and multi-faceted geometrical forms. Her work has an enigmatic, peaceful radiance. The universality of these forms, from the visible to the invisible, diffuses a timeless energy between the infinitely small and the unexplored infinite. Nadia's reflections, the foundation of her work, refer to astronomy, poetry and architecture. Text by Bernard David
