Horizontal building clock with chime signed on the setting dial Fumey père et fils à Foncine le Haut', P. Fumey Successeur', circa 1900. Iron, steel and brass. H. 1m, 34; W. 1m 26; D. 49cm. Rectangular frame and feet adorned with openwork corner pieces, peg escapement, six-tube chime, rake release, fir-rod pendulum with flat biconvex lens, four rosette-decorated cylindrical weights, three cranks, enamel setting dial dial, frame pegheads signed 'Herza'. TO BE RESTORED. Established, with his brother, in Foncine le Haut, one of the main watchmaking centers in the Jura, from 1853, Jean Marie Fumey was awarded a medal in the second class at the 1855 exhibition. In 1859, he joined forces with Armand François Collin, successor to B. H. Wagner's successor, in the creation of a watchmaking factory in his home town - of which he was mayor from 1861 to 73. Collin's factory was continued by his successor Château père amp; fils, Fumey's business was continued by his successor Château père amp; fils, Fumey's business was continued by his successor Château père amp.
