The artistic production of Giovanni Giordano Lanza was inextricably linked to his places of origin.
The symbolic places of the city of Naples, from the interiors of the churches, the coastal landscapes and the sea views saw him busy throughout his career, during which he shared his passion for the beauties of his native city with other great interpreters of nineteenth-century landscape painting like Gabriele Smargiassi, Giacinto Gigante and Teodoro Duclère.
