This is the second edition, much increased from the first, with a thorough treatment of the main diseases divided according to their predominant features. The treatise is particularly interesting because it presents the earliest descriptions of several psychic syndromes, including mania, melancholia and catalepsy, as well as cardiac diseases. In his bibliography, Laehr devotes 17 lines to analyzing the psychic diseases presented in this work. In the dispute between Galenists and Arabists, Altomare, who continued the tradition of the famous Salerno school, sided with the former. This copy lacks the last 4 unnumbered pages marked by Edit 16 at the end of the volume: however, it corresponds to the digitized copies visible online, as well as the only copy on the market.
