ROLEX Precision - Vintage Rare - Reference 4498. Serial number 79XXX. Hand-wound movement. 18kt yellow gold case 34 mm in diameter. Original white dial of the time with alternating hour markers and Arabic numerals Hours minutes and seconds in center. Bracelet not original but gold-plated buckle marked Rolex. 18kt yellow gold pressure case back internally marked "825 8961" Plexiglas glass. c. 1951. Watch in excellent cosmetic condition, note original dial of the time still in excellent condition with normal patina that gives the 'watch a pleasant "vintage" flavor that sets it apart. Finding a Rolex reference 4498 with gold case and original dial, not reprinted is a very complicated thing. Extremely rare timepiece. At the time of cataloging the watch appears to be working but the movement has not been tested for time accuracy.
