Like their French counterparts, the California Impressionists sought to capture the light of a particular moment, both groups emphasizing the transient nature of life. However, the California Impressionists broadened the lens, attempting to evoke man's kinship with nature and the unity of all living beings. [5] McCormick's notable works include Le long de la côte française , Champs de blé - Giverny and Carmel Valley Pumpkins (ca.1907) owned by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art . His paintings are mainly to be found in California museums and galleries, and in private collections in the West.
