IRAN, 12th-13th centuries Siliceous ceramic figure in the round with molded decoration under a cobalt-blue monochrome glaze, depicting an elephant standing on a thin rectangular base. The elephant carries on its back the lower part of a palanquin with a rim decorated with an openwork frieze of discs. (Accents, restorations, repaints and missing parts).
