RARE TEMOINS OF EMPRESS EUGENIE'S MAGNIFICENT COLLECTION OF JEWELRY, most of which she sold in 1872, mainly at auction, to meet the financial needs imposed by exile. - CLARY (Joseph-Adolphe) and other hands. 12 items, including 2 autographs by Count Clary, Napoleon III's executive officer. Notes on the appraisal and sale of Empress Eugénie's jewelry, including detailed lists with prices. Some references to pre-auction sales to the London jewelry houses Garrard and Harry Emanuel. - EMANUEL (Harry). 3 receipts, 2 signed autographs and one autograph. January 1872, June 1872 and n.d. For brooches, bracelets, tiara, etc., adorned with emeralds, diamonds, pearls... - CATALOGUE OF A PORTION OF THE MAGNIFICENT JEWELS, THE PROPERTY OF A DISTINGUISHED PERSONAGE ; also, a few fans and parasols : which will be sold by auction, by Messrs Christie, Manson Woods [...] on Monday, June 24, 1872.
