Rare first edition. - Parr, The Photobook,I, pp. 262-63 - Lörinczy (1935-1981) is one of the most important Hungarian photographers of the post-war period. The photographs date back to his time in New York's East Village in 1968, which he published with Magyar Helikon in 1972 under difficult circumstances. The volume is considered the most important Hungarian photo book of its time, incorporating Pop Art influences and impressively reflecting life in New York with experimental photomontages. Lörinczy emigrated to New York in 1972 after a short stay in Germany. - Front cover with hs. Ownership inscription on front cover, a few pages slightly browned in margins and partly somewhat stained. Overall very well preserved and rare copy.
