Max Ackermann 1887 Berlin - 1975 Unterlengenhardt - Untitled (figurative scene) - Oil/wood. 33.3 x 24 cm. Signed on the reverse: MAX ACKERMANN. Fully framed under glass in an object frame. Max Ackermann was a German painter and graphic artist. He studied at the art school in Weimar under Henry van de Velde in 1906, in Dresden in Richard Müller's drawing class in 1908, and then from 1909 in Munich under Franz von Stuck at the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1912, he went to Stuttgart, where he joined the circle of students of Adolf Hölzel at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, whose theories made a strong impression on him. It was here that he learned how to approach abstract painting.
