Painter, ceramist and glass decorator Marcel GOUPY (1886-1954) is particularly renowned for his decorative work on earthenware, ceramics, glass and crystal, depicting stylized plants and flowers, as well as animals and characters. His first works in enamel on glass, which are particularly popular at auctions, date from 1914.
A great draughtsman and designer, Marcel GOUPY created very rare polychrome enamelled jewels on glass, in the form of painted and pierced plates, worn as pendants.
