VERY BEAUTIFUL CHALE from Manila (Philippines). Ivory silk crepe, tone-on-tone embroidery. Rich floral design, including peonies. Double row of small bangs with grids. Split down the middle to be worn on the tournure dresses that succeeded the Napoleon III crinolines. Embellished with trimmings: cord and tassels. Very fine condition. Circa 1880. L.: 285 cm. H.: 88 cm without bangs.
