First edition enriched with a mailing: "A mon ami Ricourt / Cantagrel". In the 1840s, François Cantagrel (1810-1887) became a leading figure in the sociétaire movement. He took part in spreading Fourierist ideas through various works, in particular Le Fou du Palais-Royal, which, in the form of conversations between an individual named X and several interlocutors, popularized Fourier's ideas with some success.
