* Rare Delvigne system percussion pistol-rifle, white-polished round barrel with rise and rear sight; 17 mm rifled caliber, 40 cm long; rear lock descends to pistol grip and counterplate; openwork iron trigger guard for rod tip; one-piece walnut stock, forming rifle and carbine stock, pistol grip and short barrel, numbered : 6; ramrod articulated under the barrel by two connecting rods, finished with a ball at the end to keep it integral with the barrel; all parts polished white, unmarked, probably a test gun; overall length 74 cm. (A few small spots of oxidation; small chip at the end of the stock's beak). Circa 1840/1850. Very good condition. DELVIGNE Henri Gustave, inventor born in Paris in 1798, in Toulon in 1876. Infantry officer, resigned in 1831; inventor from 1825 to 1874; numerous patents on chambered rifles, rifled weapons, revolver 1873.
