The rectangular white porcelain plate, enameled over glaze, is illustrated with the Taoist paradise. All the important places and characters of this pantheon can be seen.
From left to right, the Banquet of the Eight Immortals, the Palace of Mount Kunlun, featuring the Jade Emperor and his retinue, Shou-Lao and various other deities.
At the foot of the building, the goddess Magu accompanied by a crane and her basket of flowers, He-He Er Xian the two gods of harmony and union, overlook the jade lake dotted with a host of other figures, Laozi (Lao-Tseu) riding an ox, Liu-Hai and his three-legged toad, Mazu goddess of the sea and protector of fishermen among others.
