DESCRIPTION DES FESTES DONNÉES PAR LA VILLE DE PARIS à l'occasion du mariage de Madame LOUISE-ELISABETH DE FRANCE & DE DOM PHILIPPE, infant & grand amiral d'Espagne les 29e et 30e août 1739. Paris, P.G. Lemercier, 1740; broadside, contemporary marbled calf binding, fleur-de-lys lace and gilt arms on boards, ten-rib fleur-de-lys spine, inner lace, spines split, top of spine summarily repaired. Beautiful festive book, decorated with a title vignette by Bouchardon, a large header with a panoramic view of Paris and 13 hors-texte figures by Blondel, Gabriel and Servandoni, including 8 double-page illustrations: decorations of monuments, bridges and banks of the Seine, spectacular fireworks display on the Seine opposite the Louvre... Bound in the coat of arms of the City of Paris. The princess was the eldest daughter of Louis XV, dom Philippe the second son of Philippe V grandson of Louis XIV and king of Spain.
