Denis Martinez, a founding member with Mesli, Baya and Zerarti of the Aouchem movement in 1967, draws his inspiration from the graphic and poetic signs that survive in the imaginary of the Maghreb. Our painting is a work in which Sumerian, Persian, Arabic and Greek cultures intersect... He is one of Algeria's most inventive and courageous painters. He questions and paints the inside and outside of humanity with equal fervor.
