FRANCE. ADRIAN HELMET WITH DUNAND VISOR 1918/39. Model 1915 Adrian helmet with Dunand visor of the type developed in 1918 but modified in 1939, steel shell brush-painted in matte dark horizon blue, adorned on the front with a brass artillery officer's full dress kepi attribute, 1st type brown leather inner cap stamped "57", original riveted leather chinstrap. Removable visor in strip metal with fine slots. BE The visor shown here is the curved 1918 model, entirely perforated with fine slits, made from strip metal, but modified at the hinge level in 1939, foreshadowing the patent applied for on November 28, 1939. It is therefore a prototype of the latter patent, of which at least one other example is known, but needless to say, it is extremely rare.
