BELGIUM. Rare "Queen Elisabeth" model 1917 steel helmet with movable protective visor, painted khaki, visor pierced with fine horizontal slits, metal roundels in the national colors on each side, no inner cap but leather chinstrap (restored at one end). ABE This helmet was designed by Dr. Weekers, an ophthalmologist at the University of Liège, and manufactured in England by Sankey (approx. 1,000 units), with little success due to poor visibility through the mobile visor.
