Cabinetmaker Jean-Baptiste Tuart was awarded the title of Master in 1741. His son, also named Jean-Baptiste, is known as a master tablemaker, merchant and furniture and porcelain merchant.
Established on rue Fromenteau and then rue Saint-Honoré, he probably sold furniture produced by his father as well as by other cabinetmakers. He was also admitted to the Master's program around 1760, and usually produced furniture with discreet bronze decoration.
