The housing unit commissioned by Air France in Brazzaville marks the first collaboration between Charlotte Perriand and Jean Prouvé.
In 1950, architects Hebrard, Lebebvre, Létu and Bienvenu, followers of Le Corbusier, called on Charlotte Perriand to create the storage units for the construction of the Congolese capital.
Charlotte Perriand called on Jean Prouvé and his workshops for the first time. They supplied the structure of the storage units, while the sliding doors were supplied by Cégédure.
For Perriand, home furnishings were the quintessence of storage, as closets abolished awkward constraints. Quick to assemble, they are easy to integrate into a floor plan. They guarantee a luxurious finish for a modest price.
