Georges Braque (1882-1963) Autograph correspondence with Max Pellequer, 1927-1958 11 signed autograph letters - 29 Sept. 1927. 2 pages in-quarto Blue ink Lunch invitation - Avignon, 10 Sept. 47. 1 page in-quarto. Blue ink Braque mentions the theater week of the Avignon festival, and particularly the representation of Richard II. "It was very moving and a great success". - Varangeville, 17 September 1949. 2 pages in-quarto Black ink Braque complains about the moviemakers he expects. "I'll be their prey for about 15 days, they are making a film on my paintings". He is mentioning Andre Bureau's short film, Georges Braque, from 1950. - St Paul de Vence, 16 May 1953. 2 pages in-quarto Black ink Braque mentions "this ceiling which seems to be well received (even in the official spheres) ". He is mentioning the Deux oiseaux, ceiling of the Henri II room in the Musee du Louvre painted in 1952-1953 - 5 letters in-quarto and a bristol dated 10 October 47 - 30 Oct. 47 - 16 Sept. 1958 - Varengeville s.d. - St Paul de Vence s.d. Blue or black ink. Administrative correspondence regarding bank placements or tax checks. Also included : - A bristol (10,4 X 10 cm) in blue ink planning a meeting. "See you Monday" - Joan Miro (1893-1983) Signed autograph letter destined to Max Pellequer, written in Barcelona on 25 July 1948. 1 page in-quarto Black ink Letter in which Miro apologizes for not being able to give him the last book to which he took part, and offers him to come to the hotel to take it. The book may be Les Penalites de l'enfer or les nouvelles de Binjamin Segal, published by Teriade in Paris in 1948. - Marc Chagall (1887-1985) Autograph correspondence with Max Pellequer, 1966 2 signed typescript letters - 7 July 1966 - 5 Dec. 1966, 1 page in-quarto each In his first letter, Chagall shares his address in St Paul de Vence and in the second, thanks him for his letter. - Vava Chagall (1905-1993) Correspondance avec Max Pellequer, 1972-1975 Her real name being Valentina Brodsky, Vava was Chagall's third and last wife. - 1 postcard, dated Aug. 2 1972, signed Letter of thanks - 1 signed typescript letter dated 22 Aug. 1973 destined to Monsieur and Madame G. Pellequer [Georges, nephew of Max Pellequer] Vera thanks them for coming to the museum opening.
