Meissen porcelain, chased and gilt bronze clock featuring two figures resting on a rocaille terrace beneath painted sheet metal branches decorated with polychrome flowers.
. The dial, signed Jean Lenoir, is surmounted by a rooster.

These elegant clocks decorated with animals, figures or Buddha in Vincennes, Sèvres and Meissen porcelain are precious objects invented by 18th-century haberdashery merchants, of which the most famous, such as Darnault and Lazare Duvaux, made a specialty.
