"...] Of a frank character, full of amenity, animated by a lively spirit and inclined to a gentle gaiety, he always found, without any pretension, the means of placing some of those puns that bring a slight smile to the face of conversation [...]. Surprised by a sudden indisposition a few days ago, we did not foresee his end so soon, a sleep that seemed favorable had taken hold of him: but he was not to wake up again [...]".
