Pair of ornamental box hinges in champlevé, enameled, engraved and gilded copper, blue, light blue and white enamels. Semicircular in shape, decorated with symmetrical foliage and a bifid extension interrupted by a circle centered on an aster. Limoges, circa 1220-1225 L. 10.5 cm and 10.7 cm (some missing enamels) These ornamental hinges are identical in decoration and enamel colors to those on the Guala Bicchieri chest acquired in 2004 by the Museo Civico in Turin (inv. 402, fig. a and b). The only difference lies in the position of the mounting holes, one here in the middle of the semicircle and two at the start of the extension on the Cardinal Bicchieri chest.
