Bronze vase In the style of archaic "Fanghu" productions, with a quadrangular body, decorated with taotie masks and stylized banana leaves on the body. Height : 47 cm Provenance: Paul-Emile Naggiar (1883-1961) was a French diplomat who served in China during his career. He was first deputy French consul in Shanghai in 1912, then French consul in Shanghai from 1915 to 1917, and consul general in 1926. He was appointed French Ambassador to China in 1936, a post he held until 1938. During his stays in China, he was able to purchase numerous works of art, which were passed down through his family.
