CHINE - XVIIIème siècle Archaizing rhinoceros horn libatory bowl. The body is encircled by a wide central ring decorated with Taotie masks formed by stylized motifs, and carved in relief with three rampant qilong. The handle is adorned with five detached qilong in the round. Gross weight: 298 g. - H.: 13.5 cm - L.: 14.7 cm. Accents, restorations, chips and chips. Circular base in openwork wood. For lots n°2 and 3: The appraisal certificates of Mr. Peio RAHOLA, expert in zoological collections and entomologist, and Mrs. Alice JOSSAUME, expert in Asian Arts, from Cabinet PORTIER & Associés, will be given to the buyer with the lot. They establish that this worked art object, was made from a Rhinoceros unicornis (I/A) horn, a so-called pre-convention specimen predating 1947 and in view of its age prior to June 1, 1947, its commercial use in the EU is permitted as well as on French national territory in accordance with the ministerial order of May 4, 2017, relating to the ban on trade in elephant ivory and rhinoceros horn.
