Another pupil of the Venetian master was Simone de Magistris, an original artist who in addition to Lotto had a visionary accent that brings his painting back into the sphere of El Greco. He was able to express a simple and popular religiosity, exactly counter-reformed, inspired by tradition, Nordic expressive emotionalism and Flemish landscape painting.
