Blumenfeld Studio - Color, New York, 1941-1960. Steidl, 2013. Erwin Blumenfeld (1897-1969) is one of America's greatest fashion photographers. After participating in the Dada movement under the pseudonym Jan Bloomfield, this German-born artist began his photographic career in the early 1930s. In 1941, he fled occupied France and emigrated to the United States. It was here, in the context of a booming press, that he became known for his fashion photography. For over 15 years, he worked for all the major American fashion magazines: Vogue and Harper's Bazaar, as well as Cosmopolitan, Life and Look. Paperback, text in English.
