EGLY-OURIET Blanc de noirs Grand Cru, Les Crayères vieilles vignes, DGT 201Set of 3 bottles 75 cl, disgorged 2010 Les Grandes Crayères is the flagship of this estate. Quite rare, its origins lie in the chalky soil typical of the region, which endows it with remarkable freshness and finesse. Planted in 1946, the old vines that have borne the Pinot Noir vinified here bring great complexity and richness that translates into intense aromatic notes. Vinification in barrel without malolactic fermentation for a year, 6 years' ageing in the cellar before release, and low dosage allow the wine to freely express its minerality, length and volume. With an estate planted mainly with pinot noir, supplemented by chardonnay and pinot meunier and originating from massal selections, all wines are vinified in barrels and aged for a minimum of four years before being marketed; they are made without malolactic fermentation in order to retain maximum freshness. Francis Egly, Récoltant-Manipulant, manages this highly reputed estate, which produces high-quality, precise and elegant champagnes.
